Website Design Mockup

The objective of this group project is to create a website that acts as a hub to the social networking channels we use, and to come up with a social networking plan for the topic we choose.
As a topic, our group chose "travelling". Our group, as "Travel Bugs", shares tips and stories through blog postings and social networking channels (Instagram / Twitter / Facebook) about travelling around the world based on our past experiences. The website we built explains who we are and what we do, and directs the users to each of the social networking websites we utilized.
My primary role was to come up with the design mockup for the website. For the home page, the main focus is the images. Effective use of the images gives excitement and imagination to the potential users. Colours and type faces are chosen to create a friendly, approachable mood, and we wanted the users to just navigate around wherever they like to explore what "Travel Buzz" is. Since our target audience leans more to the younger generations in the 20s to the 30s, we wanted the site to be fully responsive. Hence, I also created a mockup for the mobile resolution. For this version, The header is kept to be minimal, comprising of only the logo, SNS icons, and the hamburger menu. The global navigation and the search bar are designed to appear full screen when you hit the hamburger menu. Other than that, the contents themselves are identical to those on the desktop version of the mockup.
